Guggenheim Museum
1996-2002

- Extensive consulting provided for a wide variety of projects.
- Developed a series of Microsoft Access databases for tracking artwork through all
stages of an exhibition. These programs store information on artwork
for labels and catalogs, lender and artist contacts, shipping
arrangements, condition and appraisal data, and other vital
information. Multiple curators and registrars share the information and
use reports to organize the exhibitions.
- Assisted the Budgeting and Planning Department
with making its yearly projections by creating a time-saving
forecasting database. This database imported information from existing
accounting software and from Excel Spreadsheets which they manipulated
into numerous model budgets. Sophisticated financial reports were
created to mimic their existing reports, while avoiding double-entry in
the maintenance of account code ranges. Assisted employees with a great
deal of troubleshooting and data conversion in a deadline-oriented
environment.
- Created custom Crystal Reports which tapped into
the museum's inventory management software (SQL Server
based). This involved deciphering the undocumented data scheme of the
software, which utilized some 250 tables.
Technology: SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports, third-party accounting and gallery management systems
