Content Management Systems

Printer-friendly version

Gone are the days when clients were at the mercy of their web developers to alter their websites. With a modern Content Management System (CMS), you can edit text, add pages, and alter menus through a simple browser interface. These systems are themeable, which means the visual design is contained in a standalone theme that can be swapped out for a completely different design. This empowers you to make your own edits or work with your own designer any time you want.

Drupal

Drupal is our CMS of choice. It is open-source and has a huge community of developers improving every day. Our own website runs on Drupal, and we've built our support infrastructure entirely with Drupal modules. The White House site runs on Drupal, along with thousands of other high-profile sites.

We've gotten quite good at providing Drupal solutions, but since the platform is open, you are free to take over development at any time. No vendor lock-in. Isn't that nice?

WordPress

For more blog-oriented sites, WordPress is another open-source supported by a huge community that may be ideal. Like Drupal, WordPress is extensible via plug-ins and has many freely available themes.

Let's go for it!
